Oxford Road Corridor - ‘Wavelength’

I was honoured to be asked to contribute the featured poem for the Autumn 2025 Edition of Oxford Road Corridor. I chose ‘Wavelength’, a poem about walking home through Manchester after a work Christmas party and hearing the birdsong, while reflecting on the city, community, and connection.

The poem appears on the inside cover of the magazine, and I love that it will be the first thing that most readers encounter. Oxford Road Corridor is available for free in a huge range of venues along Oxford Road, the main student corridor in Manchester. I have encountered it in Manchester Museum, at both the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University, in coworking spaces, and in bars.

I am overjoyed that so many people will get to read my poem, including many students who are new to the city. You can also read the magazine as a PDF. I hope you enjoy ‘Wavelength’.
