Popshot Quarterly - ‘Blood and water’ (short story)

I can’t quite believe this is the fourth time I have been published in gorgeous Popshot. This is the first time that it is with a short story rather than a poem, so it feels extra-special. I’m really happy to be part of the Roots Issue (Winter 2022).

My story ‘Blood and water’ explores Manchester, Salford, rivers, having blood drawn, family and home, star signs, and whether we are always destined to be how we are.

Illustrator Kyle B Solomon has created such stunning spreads for my story, including such intricate details as the Indigo Girls, Wet Wet Wet, and fruit pastilles. It is such an honour and joy to see it.
