The Mechanics’ Institute Review - ‘Baptism’

My poem ‘Baptism’ was published at MIR in Summer 2022, and I love how it has been presented. This poem is one of many in which I explore a personal way of experiencing faith and rituals, and how for me, they can align with queer joy and empowerment.

‘…Your name will be whispered, let go, to disperse like a dandelion

– you can reel it right back in and have it for the rest of your life, 

or pick out a new one like a perfect shell from the shoreline…’
