Queer Joy Workshop and Performance with Fatty Acid

Fatty Acid Queer Cabaret in Salford is always a brilliant evening of performances, workshops and celebration. I was really happy to be paid to lead a workshop, and to perform on the cabaret bill.

In our workshop, we looked at queer poetry from Mary Jean Chan, Rachel Plummer and Rosie Garland, and practised writing from nature and space. It was important to me to create a safe space, and nobody had to share their work if they didn’t want to, but we had some nice readings.

I then performed a spoken-word set in the cabaret, to a wonderful audience who whooped and hollered in all the right places! It was a night to remember.
