Reclaiming Queer Healthcare zine project, supported by Writerz and Scribez

In 2023, I successfully applied for a grant from Writerz and Scribez to develop a project around queer healthcare and zine-making.

For this project, I created a series of zines inspired by my queer experiences of healthcare, from PCOS to smear tests.

I also delivered workshops in queer and trans spaces across Manchester, including Butchcrafts Alternative Pride, Queer Roots Alternative Pride, and Sparkle Sanctuary.

It has been an honour to be part of the creation of brilliant zines, as well as so many important and useful conversations and exchanges of knowledge and advice.

Our collection of zines is growing, and I hope to exhibit it or celebrate it with an event at the end of this stage of the project.

In the future, I would love to acquire further funding to extend this project and reach out to more groups of people.
