Introduction X: The Poetry Business Book of New Poets: ‘Eden’ and other poems

It was so exciting to be chosen as a New Poet to watch, with three of my poems included in this anthology from The Poetry Business. I worked closely with Peter Sansom on editing my work, which was a really interesting and rewarding process.

‘Eden’ is a sonnet about time and nostalgia, with lots of abstract imagery. ‘Going’ is the story of the dead mole outside my window when I was living in Vigo, Galicia. ‘Old rain’ is a reflection of growing up in Wigan and moving to Manchester, and where ‘home’ is, and the way I feel emotionally pulled between the two.

I performed at the launch of Introduction X at Manchester Central Library in Winter 2017 - one of my first-ever live performances!
