Popshot Quarterly - ‘Fluid’ and other poems

Popshot Quarterly was a gorgeous, long-running magazine, and it was a joy to have poems in three issues, and a short story in one issue.

In Summer 2020, my poem ‘What I always wanted poetry to tell me’ was published in The Freedom Issue of Popshot, with a stunning illustration by Chu Chu Briquet. The poem is a celebration of queerness and self-love, and a plea to hold on and stay with us if you are struggling with body image and mental health.

My poem ‘Whale baby’ appeared The Growth Issue in Summer 2021 and was beautifully illustrated by Simona de Leo. The poem explores different options for having a child as a queer person, as well as the equally valid option of not choosing that path at all.

My poem ‘Fluid’ was published in The Water Issue in early 2022. Thank you to Esmé Alice Mackay for the perfect illustration. ‘Fluid’ explores my gender fluidity, as well as finding a sense of home, and has gone on to be one of my main performance poems.
