Projects, commissions and residencies

I love working with individuals and organisations to create something special. You can learn all about my projects so far in the Projects section - these have included:

Working cross-discipline, for example Writing Dance with Yorkshire Dance (words and movement), my residency with The Poetry Business (diary-work and photography), Get Heard with Ergon Theatre (radio performance), Oldham Coliseum’s Advent Plays (performing on film), and a private commission to write lyrics with a musician. I also have an upcoming zine-making residency with Manchester Poetry Library.

Research and archive based residencies, such as Workers’ Rights with Islington Mill, where I researched local history and responded in poetry and monologue form, and Rewriting Manchester with The Portico Library, where I learnt and wrote about key Manchester locations from a queer and neurodivergent lens.

Working to inspire young people, which I hopefully achieved with the Oldham Coliseum Secondary Partnerships Scheme, for which I wrote a new school play, and the Take Ten Project with Manchester Literature Festival, when I wrote and performed a monologue for secondary pupils about the power of books and stories.

I would love to do a residency with / about: canals and quarries and urban wildlife, hiking and queering the outdoors, languages and linguistics and grammar, baking, neurodivergence and friendships with animals, zines and graphic novels (it is my dream to create a graphic novel), Wigan, Manchester, Irish heritage and music, queerness, the body, faith, and joy.
