Book me as a performer!

Poetry and spoken-word

I have performed at events across Manchester and beyond including Pride on the Range, Pathways Into Publishing at The Portico Library, Walk for Women for International Women’s Day, International Mother Language Day at Manchester Poetry Library, One Mic Stand Poetry Slam, Fatty Acid Queer Cabaret, and Sugar and Spice at the LGBT Foundation, among many others.

I particularly love events showcasing and celebrating queer, multilingual and / or neurodivergent performers, and themes / causes I write about include queer joy and empowerment, urban life and communities, mental health, body image, nature and the environment.

My solo show - ‘The Reason for Geese’

This show is an hour long, including a ten-minute interval, and can be performed with minimal tech and preparation. I am the only performer, and I bring a number of animal characters to life - such as a haughty goose and a chunky cat - using my body, voice, and minimal props.

The show is suitable for all ages and explores themes of loneliness, finding connection and community, and having to make big decisions, with plenty of humour through the surreal animal conversations.

I was commissioned to write the show by Dibby Theatre for the First Dibs programme, and debuted it in part at PUSH Festival 2021 at HOME Manchester. I was then sponsored by Superbia at Manchester Pride to further develop the show, and I debuted it in full at Turn on Fest 2022 at Hope Mill Theatre.

I completed the Teaching Theatre Pathways course in 2022 at Oldham Coliseum, and used an extract from ‘The Reason for Geese’ as my final showcase. I produced and did the lighting and sound for the extract, which was performed by an actor from the Coliseum’s Young Company.

I would love to perform this show for new audiences, so please do get in touch if you are interested in offering performance or development opportunities.
