ReWrite Exchange Project - Aalborg, Aarhus, and Manchester

I was overjoyed to be selected along with Tallulah Howarth to represent Manchester in the ReWrite project.

This project is a collaboration between Manchester Literature Festival, The Writing Squad, and two Danish literature festivals, Ordkraft in Aalborg and LiteratureXchange in Aarhus, and consists of three exchanges over the course of 2025. Tallulah and I have worked with a team of brilliant Danish writers - some for the whole project and some specific to each city.

The first exchange took part in Aalborg in March-April 2025 and was an amazing experience, leading up to a performance at Ordkraft. We lived together in a house in the suburbs, and I have fond memories of starry nights walking home and then sharing hot chocolate and discussing books we loved.

In June, we spend a second week together, in Aarhus. It was near midsummer, and the evenings were so light and long. We created and hand-stitched our own anthology and visited the ARoS art gallery, and I went for many walks after our workshops: in the woods, following the river trail, and along the beach.

I can’t wait to welcome the Danish writers to Manchester in October.
